Viticulturist Helena

To France

In 1979, Helena left for Paris as an aupair to learn French and then enrolled to the Sorborne. First and foremost, with her husband, she created a company of green plants in Rungis. She then went on to live  in Dordogne in the middle of the vines with her four children. Then again, she started a new project in wine tourism, the Mège farm, for her love of wine and moreover realised her dream of becoming a viticulturist.

Viticulturist

She very quickly and efficiently learned the job, followed internships and received her first medal in 2006. It was at this time that she had the idea to share her dream with others passionate about wine and it is then that the idea leasing out a few vines came to light. With this project she obtained the 'Best of Wine Tourism' award in Bordeaux for her originality and innovation.

Leasing of vines

In 2016, she sold her farm Mége, to move to the lovely town of Eymet to the south-west of Bergerac, together with her partner Jean-Claude. Since then she is marketing her wine under the label of the Domaine de la Dame with her friends in the wine business.

Wine Celler & lodging

Helena and Jean-Claude would be delighted to share their wines of the Bergerac country in their very own wine celler. Courts les Mûts is located about 20km from Eymet. You may want to rent their gorgeous villa de la Dame which can house up to 7 people, only from July to August (Bookings can be made via France Villa). Or you may decide to spend a few days in the lovely studio available for two people which can be booked in spring or from September to November (for bookings contact Helena).

Château Court les Mûts

The Château Courts les Mûts owned by the family of Pierre Sadoux produces excellent wines. It is here that Helena de Jong succeeded in reserving this block of top quality vines.
